Private space for very special guests...

How VIP guests can feel even more VIP? Some hotels find a solution with a very private space...

USA Today, on the 27th of September 2012, presented a new trend for high end hotels to make their guests fell even more special between their walls. The guests will extend the private experience outside of their room with exclusive-guests private lounge in the hotel.

This option has been chosen by The Capella Georgetown Boutique Hotel in Washington; the One Aldwyn Hotel in London; the Benjamin in Manhattan; the AKA Sutton Place in NYC, and the Hyatt 48 Lex in Manhattan.

We all known about club-lounges that offered complementary drinks and snacks for premium or upgraded rates but with this new concept the restriction will not be applying between the guests but between the guests and the public.

Obviously, the main reasons that pushed all these hotels into this service is the desire to make a real difference in the luxury hotels experience, in few words: to create this special plus!

Indeed,  according to  Howard Rombough, publicist of the hotel One Aldwyn, "Guests have hundreds of very good luxury hotels to choose from in London," "It was apparent — because our guests told us so — that a private lounge would be a big reason to keep them coming back."
And I can bet that having a complimentary neck, back and shoulder massage in a private lounge before relaxing on a cozy sofa while the host lounge booked my favorite restaurant might put more weight on the scale of my booking hotel decision!

WASHINGTON - The Capella Georgetown boutique hotel will reserve its rooftop lounge and pool for guests. This is a computer rendering.

So, all these efforts put together to create a private cosy bubble for the guests shows us how some hotels  give more value to quality over quantity: if opening a bar to the outsiders will bring more revenue on the moment, create loyalty among elite travelers is more profitable in the long term.

But, their challenge will be to protect their image with the public and community so they will not look arrogant or snooty and have bad comments!

On my side, this is what I call High End Services: be aware of the real needs and demand of the clients by offering quality and discretion.
